about me

Welcome! I’m Dave, your dedicated Life Coach at Inner Champ LLC. I specialize in guiding you towards personal empowerment and mastering your emotions, leveraging neuroplasticity for profound transformation. My approach is rooted in mindfulness, brain health, and a positive mindset, tailored to unlock your fullest potential and achieve holistic well-being.

As a competitive wrestler since 4th grade, I’ve been bred in an environment of high expectations and achievement. I experienced success at a national level from a young age and continued that success in high school with a career record of 109-19. This early immersion in intense competition, coupled with the constant comparisons, instilled in me a relentless quest for validation and approval. As I went on to wrestle Division 1 at Rutgers University and start as a freshman, my love for sports became entwined with a need for constant validation, leading to an unhealthy cycle of self-doubt and feelings of unworthiness.

After my wrestling career, I explored different avenues in the professional world. I excelled in sales, receiving numerous promotions, winning awards and trips, and earning recognition among top producers. However, despite these accomplishments, I felt a void. I still had a constant need for validation and still suffered from self-doubt and unworthiness.

Much of my life, this pattern manifested as an outward bravado, a cocky tough guy, also looking to be the center of attention. I constantly compared myself to others and based a lot of my self-worth off of achievements and external validation. However, this came along with internal insecurity. My coping mechanisms were far from healthy – abusing substances, seeking conflict, and overcompensating through professional achievements, all in the pursuit of feeling good enough. I had unknowingly locked myself in a cage of high expectations and self-imposed pressure, grappling with imposter syndrome and anxiety at every turn.

Despite my father introducing me to affirmations and visualizations at a young age, I didn’t fully grasp their power until later. There isn’t a pivotal moment that comes to mind on why I got on this journey. It sounds a little cliché but I really just wanted to be the best version of myself. I had big goals and I knew there was a lot of room for improvement in different areas of my life.

Some of my personal development goals along my journey have been:
  1. I wanted to do a better job at managing my emotions. I had a big anger issue I wanted to get that under control, I would go 0-100. I wanted to get this under control to be the best husband and Father I could be. I also wanted to do a better job at managing every day stress and anxiety. It was leading to irritability, negative coping mechanisms. I was putting a ton of unnecessary pressure on myself to succeed.
  2. I wanted to increase my confidence and self-worth. No matter how much I achieved I continued to feel a void. I thought I had to continue to achieve more to fill that void, but no matter how much I acheived I felt like a fraud or that I worry if I’ll sustain it.
  3. I wanted to increase my focus and memory. I struggled my whole life in the traditional school system. I never got good grades. I tried adderall in college. That was great but I knew it wasn’t good for me in the long run so I wanted to find a holistic way to mimic those effects.
  4. About 10 years ago I came across the book The Secret and I became fascinated by the concept of manifestation and The Law of Attraction. And like attracts like. How we think and feel and what we’re focused on we attract. Both positively and negatively. The more I learned about it, the more I learned there’s actually a lot of science to it.

The more I began to learn how to accomplish these goals (regulating emotions, increasing confidence and self worth, increasing focus and memory,  manifestation) the more I was brought down the roads of neuroscience, psychology, growth mindset, and nutrition. They all  overlap and intertwine with each other and what it really comes down to is keeping the brain and the mind healthy. Ultimately, it comes down to becoming extremely self-aware – recognizing your negative thoughts/emotions, which is tied to your ego/shadow. Then, letting go and forming a new positive, confident, uplifting you, the real you.

This is accomplished by hacking our subconscious through a concept called neuroplasticity – the brain’s ability to adapt and change over time. Basically, it’s a superpower we are born with to rewire our brain. I’ve become obsessed with every which way to accomplish neuroplasticity and have put together a fantastic system of very achievable habits to rewire your brain.

As your coach, we’ll explore together the deep-rooted patterns that hinder your peak performance. Leveraging the power of neuroplasticity, we will hack your subconscious to develop new, positive mental pathways. This transformative journey will redefine your personal narrative, unlocking your immense potential and guiding you towards a life of fulfillment and success.
